Mammography

How long does a Mammography take?


LENGTH OF PROCEDURE: 15-20 minutes for screening
mammography, 30-60 minutes for diagnostic mammography

When can my Doctor get the results?


REPORT AVAILABILITY: Within 24 hours

What am I required to do before the Mammography?


PATIENT PREPARATION: The patient should not use any
deodorant, perfume, powders or ointments under the
arms or breasts on the day of the exam, as these may
show up as an abnormality on the film. Wearing a two-
part outfit will allow the patient to undress only
from the waist up.

Make sure to drink plenty of water the night before your lab draw and take your regularly scheduled medication.

The patient is responsible for getting a copy of the lab results to their provider.
