OR Technician - Surgery/ Hospital
The Surgical Technician (OR Tech) will practice within the boundaries of their job description and/or assigned duties by their supervisor. Assists surgeon/proceduralist in the capacity of scrub technician. This position must be willing to cross train and work in the capacity of a SPD Tech.


Education: Graduate of an accredited surgical technician program for surgical technology. Experience in Sterile Processing and Endoscopy.

Licensure: Current BLS

Work Experience: 1-year experience in a healthcare setting

Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and free from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.


• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Scrubs/assists surgeon/proceduralist in the OR/Endo Suite
• Gathers and prepares equipment and supplies for procedures
• Skills/Knowledge of sterile technique, scrubbing, duties within the OR
• Knowledge of the safe practice within the OR environment (patient prepping, patient positioning, Universal Protocol etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with customer service skills
• Knowledge of sterile expiration dates, stocking and OR turnover process
• Knowledge of critical equipment/supplies used in the OR
• Creating a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for the patient

The patient is responsible for getting a copy of the lab results to their provider.
